Justin Vernon, of the folk indie band Bon Iver, claims that to truly experience the combination of ethereal sound and harmonizing vocals, it takes the entire audience of a tour date singing together with the band. While Bon Iver's tour dates at festivals like Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo have become hugely popular, fans can still capture the essence of their unique sound on hit records like their eponymous second album. Those that have heard one of Bon Iver's albums but have not experienced live on their concert schedule will get the opportunity this summer on one of the band's North American or European tour dates in 2011.
Frontman and soul of Bon Iver, Justin Vernon, had been in a number of bands, including DeYarmond Edison and two solo projects. After DeYarmond Edison disbanded, Vernon came down with mononucleosis and began writing and recording songs from his bed. While initially meant to be a demo, Vernon released the songs under the title For Emma, Forever Ago and the album was soon acclaimed by critics and audiences. Nearly every music website and magazine gave it rave reviews and songs from the album began appearing all over television. The success of the album led Bon Iver to recruit a backing band for live shows and began playing tour dates at Austin City Limits, SXSW, and Sasquatch!, just to name a few.
Bon Iver's second eponymous album received even greater reviews and praise from the world, skyrocketing to the top of the charts and currently rushing towards gold certification. While Bon Iver has scheduled many tour dates in 2011, much like the album, his concert schedule has become so popular that many tour dates are sold out. Bon Iver's concert schedule begins in North America on July 22 and will begin in Europe on October 19. After dozens of stops, Bon Iver's 2011 tour dates will end on November 11; fans who are looking for tickets to the sold out shows need look no further, as Eventful still has tickets for some of the tour dates. Don't miss this opportunity to catch one of the world's most popular live acts on his 2011 tour dates.
