Cake tour dates are currently scheduled internationally in support of their most recent album Showroom of Compassion, which was released in January, 2011. Cake became one of our favorite alt-rock bands in the mid-90s, with their incorporation of guitar riffs, trumpets, and the vibraslap. Combine that with John McCrea's rough and steady vocals and Cake became a staple on modern rock stations throughout the country. The Cake concert schedule 2011 has the band traversing the world. Don't miss a date by using Eventful for Cake tour dates and venue information.

Cake had its beginnings in 1991 with frontman John McCrea, Vince DiFiore on trumpet, Shon Meckfessel on bass, and Frank French on drums. The band self-produced and self-released their debut single "Rock 'n' Roll LIfestyle" which managed to make an impression at #31 on the Billboard US Modern Rock Tracks survey. In light of the success, the band recorded and released their debut LP Motorcade of Generosity in 1994, and the band was picked up by Capricorn Records.

Cake released their breakthrough sophomore album Fashion Nugget in 1996 which featured the hit single "The Distance". The single became a staple on rock radio and garnered the album Platinum status. They returned two years later with Prolonging the Magic, which featured the hit "Never There" and gave the band another Platinum record. Their fourth album Comfort Eagle was released in 2001 and featured the summer-jam "Short Skirt/Long Jacket". Cake tour dates were booked on the Unlimited Sunshine Tour in 2002. The tour featured Cake alongside The Flaming Lips, De La Soul, and Modest Mouse.

Cake then regrouped in 2004 to record Pressure Chief and they released a compilation album in 2007 entitled B-Sides and Rarities. Cake concert dates were scheduled alongside the Brazilian Girls for an East Coast tour and The Detroit Cobras for a West Coast show. The Cake concert schedule also included a main stage appearance at the 2009 Artscape Festival. They returned to their newly renovated and 100% solar energy infused studio in 2008 to record new material and released their latest album, Showroom of Compassion, in 2011. The album featured the hit single "Sing of You" and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 becoming the first #1 album in their twenty-year career.

Cake's music has continued to evolve with their growing fan-base, however, they keep coming back with their feel good alt-funk jams. Cake tour dates are currently scheduled internationally to support their latest #1 album. Come out and relive "The Distance" and "Never There" along with their new tracks.
