The band’s poignant lyrics and structured rhythm create an urban rock sound with dark pop overtones, inspired by the likes of Oasis, The Killers and U2.
Crystal Kid was born from the collective songwriting skills of brothers Frank and Charles Torrealba, who would later be joined by Chris Bazinet to play the drums. After years of songwriting and playing locally they released their debut E.P in 2008 to a great reception.
Crystal Kid’s self-titled E.P was produced by Daron Schofield, and Engineered by Josh Rob Gwilliam.
After much local and regional success, the band also topped the Alternative Charts on Purevolume.com and was ranked the 2nd most downloaded band on the website in early January of 2009. Their sound has been described as "the sort of music the Gallagher brothers (Oasis) set out to make but got too caught up in themselves to complete – Wildy's World (September 2008)" and their high-energy live show is not one to be missed. The band is currently writing new music for a full-length recording.
