For as long as I can remember, I've loved to sing. Music has always been a huge part of my life. When I was younger, I chose ballet and tap classes over team sports and sang everywhere I went, all the time. I immediately fell in love with the idea of performing for an audience after my parents took me to a few different musicals that passed through town. My dream was to then someday perform in New York City on a Broadway stage. Little did I know, that dream would become a reality sooner than I had ever anticipated.
At the age of thirteen I made my Broadway debut in the 2008 revival of Gypsy starring Patti LuPone. I couldn't believe it. I still can't believe it! My dream actually came true. Then, in 2009, I was awe struck all over again when I performed in the 2009 Broadway Revival of Bye Bye Birdie. During my time in New York City I had the honor to perform with the New York Pops Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. I don't think I have ever been so nervous in my entire life as I was before I stepped out onto that legendary stage!
Since my eighth grade year I've been playing the guitar. I have always been big into writing stories and poems so I thought I would give songwriting a shot after hearing that Taylor Swift also wrote her own songs. She inspired me to share my fears, dreams and personal experiences with others through song and I haven't stopped since.
My music has begun to move in some truly exciting directions for me. In November of 2011, I made my first trip down to Nashville, TN to record a song that I co-wrote (co-writers: Nicole Sullivan, Bill Steins) for Fighting Faces; a truly incredible cancer foundation based in Columbus, Ohio closely associated with the awesome Jack Hanna. Thank you to Lori Wycoff for putting together this amazing organization. A portion of the proceeds made from our efforts to sell this song will go to families dealing with cancer so please purchase this single on iTunes! I most recently traveled back to Nashville this past spring and recorded my EP album that is currently available on iTunes and other music distribution sites (including CDBaby.com) and can also be heard on my YouTube channel!
