Raw emotion is the sentiment Frankie J is revealing to fans with his Spanish-language debut, Un Nuevo Dia. The Mexican neo-soul star has spent the last year in the studio writing and recording personal songs that represent an emotional turning point for the artist. Frankies kept his buzz alive by giving fans a taste of the forthcoming album by releasing a Spanish version of the soft-rock ballad More Than Words, a remake of the 1991 hit by Extreme.
Un Nuevo Dia is a raw look inside Frankie Js personal world as he showcases both his singing and songwriting abilities over a fusion of pop, rock, and R&B tracks. Frankies versatility with different genres is what has made this Latin crooner a platinum-selling artist. Sung entirely in Spanish, Un Nuevo Dia is a return to not only Frankies Latin heritage but also his musical roots.
Frankie says the songs showcased on the album represent the emotional turn his life has taken. This is a very personal record for me. These songs are about starting your life over and living a new day. You dont have to speak Spanish to understand where Im coming from with these songs. The emotions in my voice and in my melodies are really what tell the story. Produced by Frankie, Happy Perez, Brian Michael Cox, Soul Shooz and Karlin, the album was recorded entirely in Texas, the state Frankie has called home for the last 5 years. Frankie also made his dream of collaborating with Latin pop duo Sin Bandera a reality by featuring the group on the album.
Exploring the Latin roots that have signified the 25-year-old as a unique R&B star, Frankie J displays exemplary talents on Un Nuevo Dia. Host to a smooth array of slow to mid-tempo tracks, this album showcases Frankies incessant, sweet vocal yearnings, the kind the ladies will gravitate towards upon a first listen.
