Pioneers of alternative rock, Jane's Addiction, are back together this year with a new album and 2011 tour dates. Jane's Addiction broke onto the scene with their debut studio album, Nothing's Shocking, which featured the signature vocals of Perry Farrell and the skilled guitar work of Dave Navarro. Despite frequent breakups, Jane's Addiction sounds better than ever, as fans will discover upon the release of The Great Escape Artist in August. In the meantime, Jane's Addiction has a handful of 2011 tour dates around the world this summer and fall.
Formed circa 1985 in Los Angeles, Jane's Addiction quickly gained a following while playing on the club circuit. Their debut studio album, Nothing's Shocking, quickly went platinum and was followed by the band's first headlining tour dates. 1990's Ritual de lo Habitual sold even better, going double platinum and followed by a year-long tour. Extensive touring took its toll on the band's interpersonal relationships and Jane's Addiction disbanded in 1991. They briefly reunited in 1997, but wouldn't release another album until reforming in 2001 and recording Strays. However, after subsequent tour dates, the band once again broke up again.
Jane's Addiction reunited in 2008 and, with a new upcoming album and over a dozen tour dates in 2011, it looks like their together for good. The concert schedule is currently ongoing and, while most of the shows are in North America, Jane's Addiction will make intermittent trips overseas to perform festival dates. Jane's Addiction's tour dates end on October 14, but they may add more performances after the album releases.
