      Bio

Homegrown indie-rockers New Empire are thrilled to announce the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Symmetry’, on Friday 16th September 2011 (distribution through MGM).

Over the past twelve months, New Empire has propelled into the spotlight of the Australian music scene, scoring international supports for Good Charlotte, Switchfoot, Owl City and Simple Plan.

New Empire’s latest single, ‘Give Me The World’, has been profiled on Channel V and secured airplay across Austereo’s national radio networks Radar Radio and the Today Network, along with spins on Sydney’s Triple M. The emotive track features a strong bass line and soaring vocals, drawing comparisons to 30 Seconds To Mars and Kings Of Leon. Recorded in Silverchair bassist Chris Joannou’s Central Coast studio, ‘Symmetry’ delivers a dynamic collection of tracks that showcases the band’s incredible instrumental finesse alongside exceptional songwriting skills.

Widely touted as one of the most exciting new acts to emerge on the local music landscape, New Empire’s acclaimed live performances are second to none, and have drawn praise from some of the country’s leading critics. The AU Review recently raved that “… after hearing (New Empire’s) album, I was expecting nothing less than a good show. And a good show it was – even running into a few notables tells me these guys are going to be the next big thing in Australian music. In fact, didn’t
Powderfinger leave an opening for a soft-pop-rock band in the market? Because it wouldn’t surprise me if (New Empire) filled it”.

Since their inception in 2006, New Empire has firmly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. The band’s track ‘Hero’ was included on the iTunes ‘Hotly Tipped For 2011’ compilation, and their recent ‘Here In Your Eyes’ national headline tour filled venues in Brisbane and Melbourne, wrapping up with a sell-out hometown show in Sydney.
