2007 looks set to be the year of Sweet Seduction.
Having spent 2006 burning up the highways and byways of Britain, they were rewarded with a place in Kerrang’s Top 5 Unsigned Band Readers’ Poll and are booked for shows throughout the coming year along the length and breadth of the country. How? Hard work. Sweet Seduction gig mercilessly, picking up fans at every show and leaving a trail of empty bottles and broken hearts in their wake. Their explosive mix of 80s glam metal, sleaze punk and modern rock ‘n’ roll has laid waste to venues such as Dudley JBs, the Robin 2 (voted best venue under 500 capacity in midlands, now holds 700) the Garage, the Sugarmill and they started off 07 by Headlining the most famous club in the world, the Cavern.
The band started to get serious with the addition of Randii & Savage in April 04 (then the Wild Roses) leading to the current line up and have since gained both National and International press & reviews. Most have championed the band with the most recent being on onemetal.com where you can find a live review stating how the world needs Sweet Seduction in their lives. Also worth mention is that Sweet Seduction have also made the pages of more established press such as Kerrang (Top 5 Unsigned Band), Metal Hammer (“AC/DC esque bluesy stomp-a-longs”) & Black Velvet Magazine (“Sleaze Rock Heaven”) along with a small part on Central News publishing their sell out show in memory of Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy of which his mother was in attendance.
Such hard work and press has led to supports with the Dogs d’Amour, The Sweet, Vain, Tigertailz, Tokyo Dragons and the*Ga*Ga*s among countless others. Add to this a recurrent slot at major festival ‘the Bulldog Bash’ of which they shared the festival bill with the likes of Terrorvision, the Almighty, Therapy?, the Datsuns etc and knocked up the biggest crowd on the second stage at 06’s 20th Anniversary and biggest bash to date. It's their live shows that made Sweet Seduction fans of audience members such as Mani of Primal Scream, Stone Roses, Wardi of o/d Saxon, Slash's Snake Pit & Roddy Stone of Viking Skull..... so you can see why the band have reason to be optimistic about the future.
With relentless gigging, lesser bands would put song writing and recording on hold. Sweet Seduction don’t, you hopefully already have in front of you a copy of the band’s White Knuckle Ride EP supplied by the band if a PR, venue etc or bought from a show or www.littlemissgothic.co.uk (Little Miss gothic also hosts SS T-shirts and our other merch) otherwise… and if not… why not!?? White Knuckle ride is a testament to the band’s constant song writing given the fact that only two of its five tracks now regularly make the live set, the rest having been supplanted by new, harder-hitting material. A live recording is in the pipeline for 2007 to showcase Sweet Seduction doing what they do best – rocking the stage! No recording will ever match the bands live performance and Sweet Seduction are often questioned about the frustrations of not being able to fairly present them selves on plastic. So open a beer, press play, and raise a glass to Rock ‘n’ Roll, Sweet Seduction are comin’ to your town!!
