      Bio

While you might not know his name, Peter Silberman is making quite a name for himself in the world of mainstream music. As the frontman for The Antlers, Peter has composed songs for two exalted albums and won over fans in the US and UK with numerous festival and tour dates. Since independently releasing the acclaimed album, Hospice, in 2009, the band can do no wrong and has created major buzz in the world of indie music. The Antlers are about to bring a little of the magic to other parts of the world, including Europe and Mexico, on their 2011 tour dates.

The Antlers was created as a solo project for Peter Silberman in 2006, shortly after the artist moved to Brooklyn, NY. He wrote and recorded the bands first two albums -- Uprooted (2006) and In the Attic of the Universe (2007) -- by himself, which attracted the attention of drummer Michael Lerner and keyboardist / trumpeter / banjoist Darby Cicci. The Antlers then recorded two EPs that were combined to create the concept album, Hospice, in 2009. Self-released, the album sold more copies than Silberman could create and quickly became an underground hit that soared into a universal sensation. Whereas many artists would fade from the limelight, The Antlers followed up with Burst Apart in 2011. While the album featured a slightly more uplifting sound than the previous albums, fans and critics praised the album's more expansive, grand sound.

Now that The Antlers have proven their not just one album wonders, they're embarking on 2011 tour dates at festivals and venues all over Europe and North America. The Antlers are jumping from country to country, continent to continent until December, so check their 2011 tour dates on Eventful for all of the details.
