One of the great American rock bands, The Eagles have won six Grammys and released six albums that defined Southern California country rock throughout the 70s. The Eagles' albums, tour dates, and overall musicianship earned them a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as in the speakers of audiences around the world. While the world had to do without The Eagles for 14 years, they returned with a Grammy Award-winning 2007 album, The Long Road out of Eden, and has plans for a couple of much anticipated tour dates in 2011.
Forming out of Linda Ronstadt's backing band, The Eagles scored a hit right out of the gate with the 1972, eponymous album. While 1974's On the Border didn't fair as well, it was well received by diehard fans and led to a tour date at the California Jam festival the same year, where they played with legends like Black Sabbath, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Deep Purple. The Eagles' most successful album is undoubtedly the masterpiece Hotel California, which won two Grammys and was the first to feature guitarist Joe Walsh. Although The Eagles disbanded in 1984, they would return to performing tour dates in 1994 and returned to the mainstream with The Long Road out of Eden.
Although The Eagles have claimed that they probably won't release any more albums, they continue to play tour dates in 2011. Following an appearance at The Hop Festival on July 1, The Eagles have two concerts at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in early November.
