Marcus is a 19 year old multifaceted entertainer, who sings, writes, acts, raps, engineers, produces and dances. He began acting at the age of 4 with print advertisements and commercials. He taught himself to sing, write and produce music. Marcus has been building his craft for 14 years, appearing in memorable and historic projects like the Tony Award-winning Broadway play, “Caroline, Or, Change”, and a total of 5 film/television movies. His most popular works include his lead role in the HBO classic, “Lackawanna Blues”, which also starred Terrence Howard, S. Epatha Merkeson, Jeffrey Wright, Mos Def, and Jimmy Smitz. Marcus held another resonating lead role in the IFC Spirit award-winning movie on Bob Dylan’s life, “I’m Not There”, which also featured Heath Ledger, Cate Blanchette, Richard Gere and Christian Bale.
Now, as a new and rapidly growing name in the music industry, Marcus continues to seek new and artistically challenging film and television roles while performing and spreading his unique and energetic sound globally. Because of his musical talent, Marcus has opened for and/or made fans of current popular artists such as Charlie Wilson, Willow Smith, Mos Def, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Lupe Fiasco, Rick Ross, Wale, Chrisette Michele and Chris Brown.
His talents extend to the academic field as well. He is currently attending Drexel University majoring in Entrepreneurship.
